I’m a qualified Japanese to English translator, librarian and educator based in the East Midlands. I particularly like translating non-fiction and humour but I’m open to working with any genre of writing.

My MA dissertation focussed on the impressionistic essay Mosukuwa Inshouki (“Record of Moscow Impressions”) by the 20th Century writer and activist Yuriko Miyamoto. In my translation of this essay I used an experimental technique to deal with the large number of Russian terms in the Japanese source text.
