My debut novel, Wild Moon Rising, is out June 2025  – a lead title with Akan Books, a new imprint from HarperCollins headed by June Sarpong and Lisa Milton. I’m also a contributor to Kit de Waal’s celebrated Common People – An Anthology of Working-Class Writers, and my work appears in various national and independent publications and magazines, and I’ve written reports for the UN. I’m a prize-winning short story and memoir writer, Associate Artist with the National Writing Centre, where I also feature as a Case Study. I have also written and performed short scripts for an Arts Council-funded production, CounterCulture.

Alongside working as an author, I am an editor, mentor, manuscript assessor, copywriter, copyeditor and proofreader with 30 years’ experience both in-house and freelance for a variety of major publishing houses, independents, educational publishers, and corporate publications. I have worked with and for Jericho Writers, the TLC, and independently for my editorial business.

I enjoy chairing panels for literary festivals and have held panels and workshops on rejection, resilience, and finding an agent, among other facets of the publishing and writing life. I also interview and host conversations with other authors. I’ve taught creative writing in prisons, and in higher education.

I am currently writing my second novel.
