I translate from French and Italian into English, mainly fiction and non-fiction books, but also, more recently, poetry and drama. I’ve worked for publishers including Peirene, Les Fugitives, And Other Stories, Bloomsbury, Routledge, Transworld and Gallic Books, and have been longlisted for the Man Booker International Prize. My literary work so far has mainly been contemporary fiction but recent projects include work by the neglected ‘Decadent’ female writer, Rachilde. In non-fiction, I have particular interests in music and environmentalism.

I regularly teach translation and lead translation workshops, have acted as a mentor, and was programme manager for the Queen’s College Translation Exchange from its inception in 2018 until June 2021.
