I’m a freelance German to English translator and editor focused on literature, business, and wine.
In 2022, I gained distinction on an MA in Translation from the University of Bristol, and a short story I translated for my dissertation, Beatrix Kramlovsky’s “The Good Winemaker,” was published in the November 2023 edition of Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine. This year, I was longlisted for the John Dryden Translation Prize for two separate entries: a co-translation of two of postwar German author and Nobel Prize nominee Marie Luise Kaschnitz’s short stories, and a co-translation of an excerpt from Moritz Matthies’s best-selling satirical crime novel Ausgefressen. Last year my co-translation of an extract from Boy Lornsen’s classic children’s story Robbi, Tobbi und das Fliewatüüt was also longlisted.
My business experience stems from years of in-house copy editing for international management consultancy McKinsey & Co., and as a holder of the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines I have a strong understanding of wine theory and terminology.
