I am an award-winning freelance creative based in Stroud, Gloucestershire, with over 25 years of experience. I am a design graduate from the University of Wolverhampton and work under the name of The Daydream Academy.

Academic Achievements and Current Positions

I have an MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University and am a published poet and author. I am the current Director of the Gloucestershire Poetry Society and Founder and Editor of Steel Jackdaw magazine.

 

Publication and Performance Summary

My poetry has been published in magazines, anthologies, business books, and multi-author publications. It has also been published on BBC Upload. I have performed/read at festivals, including the Cheltenham Poetry Festival and the 2000 Trees Festival, at business events and poetry events. In addition, I have judged poetry competitions and I perform/read at open mic events, online and offline.

 

Arts Council Funded Practitioner

The ADHD Foundation commissioned me as a poet for the Stoke on Trent Neurodiversity Umbrella Project. My poem is part of a Peace Garden in the City Centre.

 

Current Projects

I am part of the Literature Works Word Space Programme 2024/25 cohort, which supports selected South West writers.

I am currently working on a new poetry collection on lived experience of Autism and ADHD.
