Jane was born and raised in Aldershot in Hampshire. After a decade working in E-commerce, she gained a degree in English Literature and Philosophy from Royal Holloway, and an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Surrey. She spent seven years teaching English literature to undergraduates, before moving to the seaside to concentrate on writing.

She originally self-published MOTHS in 2021, a high-concept thriller that follows Mary as she contemplates her life before men were driven mad by a toxin and society was upended. In 2022 Jane was signed by Liza de Block at Mushens Entertainment and received a two-book deal from Angry Robot. MOTHS was republished with extensive changes in 2023. TOXXIC, the sequel to MOTHS, will be published in March 2024.

Jane is severely sight impaired due to a genetic eye disease and is a member of the SoA group, Authors with Disabilities and Chronic Illnesses.
