I have published three novels about an Irishman, Oisin Kelly and his life. Set in 1950s Ireland the story moves through time to Australia in the 1970s and the fourth novel, a work in progress, brings his life to the present day. I have also been researching a family history but focusing on fictional stories based on facts about the various memorable characters. Titled Wanderers All: stories from emigrant families in nineteenth-century Australia and New Zealand. This work is due for publication in May 2024. I have also published a collection of short stories, Other People’s Lives.

My editorial work includes ten years working with the now defunct Scottish Borders Council literary magazine, the Eildon Tree. I have proofread and edited novels for fellow writers.

I have also conducted workshops on the writing of short stories and have spoken at the Borders Book Festival about my work with the Borders Writers Forum.

My other interest is setting up a meet-up group of Society of Authors members in my local area, The Scottish Borders. Our first meeting was held in January 2024 and will be continued monthly thereafter.
