Ina Cole has written widely on twentieth-century and contemporary art, publishing articles, artist interviews, essays and exhibition catalogues. She is UK contributing editor for Sculpture; a publication affiliated to the International Sculpture Center in the US. Following 10 years at Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum, she held several positions within culture and higher education, including University of Warwick, Arts Council England and Bath Spa University, and has also facilitated many live debates with artists. Ina has an MA in the History of Modern Art and Design from Falmouth University, Cornwall.

Ina’s most recent book is From the Sculptor’s Studio: Conversations with Twenty Seminal Artists (Laurence King Publishing). In the book, some of the most significant artists working in Britain talk about their life and work: Fiona Banner, Phyllida Barlow, Anthony Caro, Richard Deacon, Laura Ford, Antony Gormley, Mona Hatoum, Susan Hiller, Anish Kapoor, Tania Kovats, Richard Long, David Nash, Cornelia Parker, Marc Quinn, Peter Randall-Page, Eva Rothschild, Richard Wentworth, Rachel Whiteread, Richard Wilson and Bill Woodrow.

More recently, Ina has added creative writing to her practice. Her stories – which weave strands of fact and fiction together into narrative form – explore universal themes in life, to create unsettling worlds in which reality and illusion converge.
