Ian Giles is a highly productive literary translator with more than 40 published titles from the Scandinavian languages into English to his name.

He is currently the Chair of the Translators Association and was elected to the Society of Authors’ Management Committee in 2025. He served as Chair of the Swedish-English Literary Translators’ Association for six years from 2018.
