I’ve spent of 50 years as a detective, having served in all ranks of CID before leaving the service and joining the strange world of global corporate investigations. I gave that up to write. Since then I have had several works published. My memoir, ‘An Inspector Recalls’, was described by the Guardian as ‘the best of the genre’ (police memoirs). My book on counterfeit medicines resulted in wide media coverage and my being invited to give expert testimony at the U.S Senate. ‘Rot at The Core’ featured in many national newspapers and is currently being made into a film. My non fiction book about the Great Train Robbery led to a Ch.4 film.
I relate to the following keywords and phrases – ‘social justice’, ‘what’s wrong with our police’, ‘organised crime’, ‘republicanism’, ‘human rights.’
