I’m a writer, a translator, and a scholar of modern Arabic literature. My translations of short prose pieces have appeared in World Literature Today, Michigan Quarterly Review, The Stinging Fly, Banipal, and ArabLit Quarterly. Since 2023, I have been serving as Visiting Assistant Professor of English at Hope College, where I teach college writing and world literature in translation.
I’m currently on contract to translate a novel by Bahraini human rights activist Nabeel Rajab.
In 2022, I edited a book-length issue of the literary translation journal Absinthe entitled Orphaned of Light: Translating Arab and Arabophone Migration.
