Gail has been a visual artist for over 30 years, specialising in Arboreal and Botanic representation. The Botanic side of her visual work has led her to becoming an illustrator for both nature & educational publications.
Alongside this role, Gail’s poetry has developed to accompany her Arboreal artwork and in 2020 the first edition of The Trees from Dawn to Dusk was self published. The book was well received – the poetry contained within allowed the reader to link with nature while exploring both happy and difficult times of the human lifeline.
2026 sees a second edition of this book published, in the same format size but with larger visuals and more colourful presentation of the poetry. Favourites from the original edition remain, and are joined by new artwork and poetry to feed the readers soul.
Root & Bloom, released in 2026 concerns the Botanic side of Gail’s work and takes the reader through the necessary steps of learning to produce artwork in this traditional format of presentation, used since the Victorian times of scientific exploration, before photography came along to aid the recording of plant species.
Gail will be heading back to poetry later in 2026, with a scheduled book release in late autumn called The Extraordinary Ordinary. Based around the National Landscape and Biosphere of The Isle of Wight, the poetry and visuals explore the beauty of this diamond shaped Island in the Solent.
