Florina Tufescu (PhD, University of Exeter) is the author of a well-received book on Oscar Wilde and the counter-romantic tradition in modern  literature, the translator of two internationally acclaimed Swedish novels and the editor and translator into English of numerous titles in the humanities and social sciences. Her publications include Oscar Wilde’s Plagiarism: The Triumph of Art over Ego (Irish Academic Press), described as ‘an immensely enjoyable read’ by Royal Irish Academy member Declan Kiberd, the Scholar Architect series of open-access books published by the ‘Ion Mincu’ University of Architecture and Urban Planning, Bucharest (as translator and copyeditor) and Voia mea e un fir de iarbă (Editura Datagroup), the Romanian version of Mattias Timander’s debut novel Din vilja sitter i skogen (Your Will Is In The Woods), praised for rising ‘to the stylistic and linguistic challenges of the original’.

A former lecturer in academic writing and in British and Irish literature at the universities of Uppsala and Dalarna (Sweden) and a lifelong student who enjoys exploring different subjects, Florina Tufescu specialises in academic editing and translation from Romanian, Spanish and Swedish into English and would welcome the opportunity to translate more fiction and nonfiction writing from English and Spanish into Romanian.

She is an open-access advocate and contributor to OA scholarly initiatives and a firm opponent of the imposition of unethical AI in publishing and academia. She thinks that books should either be well written or not written at all and she has resolved not to use AI in any of her writing and research, at least not until this ill-defined industry is properly regulated.
