I am an author and medievalist, currently based in Cambridge, UK.
The Butterfly Assassin, published 2022 by Simon & Schuster Children’s UK, was my debut novel, a YA thriller about a traumatised teenage assassin trying (and failing!) to live a normal life in a fictional closed city in Yorkshire. It won the YA category at the Sheffield Children’s Book Awards and the Silver Award at the Sussex Amazing Book Awards. It was followed by two sequels, The Hummingbird Killer and Moth to a Flame, published 2023 and 2024 respectively.
My first novel for adults, The Wolf and His King, will be published by Gollancz in November 2025 and Kensington Books in January 2026. This is a queer reworking of the medieval French poem ‘Bisclavret’, about a werewolf knight and the king who loves him. It will be followed in 2026/27, again from Gollancz/Kensington Books, by The Animals We Became, a queertrans take on the Fourth Branch of the Mabinogi.
I have also published a number of academic articles about medieval Irish literature, particularly the Ulster Cycle. More information about my research can be found here.
