I am an Arabic–English literary translator, author and applied linguist based in London. For more than twenty years I have worked with authors, publishers, cultural institutions and researchers to bring Arabic voices into English with accuracy, cultural sensitivity and literary care. My translation work spans novels, art and heritage publications, historical works and academic texts, with a particular interest in Bahraini and Gulf literature and culture. I believe translation is not simply the transfer of words, but the carrying of a writer’s voice, imagination and cultural world across languages. 

Alongside my translation work, I write on language, identity and narrative, drawing on my background in applied linguistics and my research into health communication and digital storytelling. My publications explore the lived experiences of Muslim women, while my literary interests centre on memory, history and the stories that shape communities. Whether writing or translating, I am committed to making complex human experiences resonate across cultures while remaining faithful to the texture and spirit of the original.
