The corporate world

An ERASMUS exchange brought me to France in 1991 and I’ve lived here almost ever since. I graduated in International Marketing and French and spent the first 15 years in various account management positions in the newspaper circulation sector, based in Paris.

Freelance translator

In 2007 my husband’s promotion brought us to Le Mans, and given the likelihood of moving again in the near future it would be best for me to opt for a career that I could do from anywhere. Translation was the obvious choice for me, but I needed to feel legitimate so signed up for an MA Translation distance learning course. I was awarded a distinction.

I spent the next 15 years as a commercial translator, concentrating mainly on digital and print magazine articles and relishing the creativity required.

Trainer

A desire to share the tools and methods that work for me as a freelancer prompted me to become a corporate trainer in mind mapping and the Getting Things Done method.

Coaching

I am also trained in Non Violent Communication and have an interest in sociocracy. These interests have been stepping stones towards coaching and I am currently training to be a professional coach.

Fiction

At the same time, I am steering my translation business towards the literary world and am working on my first novel pitch.
