Eira Morgan-Jones is the author of Sentinel of the Sun, the first novel in an epic new 4-part YA fantasy series in which the wildness of nature intersects with ancient power and new tyranny.
Fed from an early age on a steady diet of Welsh folklore and family legend by her mother, and immersed in all the classic science fiction and fantasy by her father, she now writes the contemporary stories her teenage self always wanted and couldn’t find.
Sentinel of the Sun, released on 5 May 2026, is led by young women with dirt under their nails, who aren’t afraid to break the rules to get things done. The novel is published by Graffeg and supported by Books Council of Wales.
Eira grew up building dens and skinning her knees in the woods and forests of Hampshire, and to this day is never truly happy unless in sight of trees. She has a masters degree in Professional Writing from Falmouth University and currently lives in Hampshire with her husband, Jeff, and Jack Russell terriers, Ivy and Merry.
