Dina Leifer is a writer and translator from French and Italian.
She specialises in literary, art and social sciences translations, and writing for children. She has a background in journalism and editing and moved into professional translation in 2015 after gaining an MA in Translating Popular Culture.
Dina won the Stevns Translation Prize in 2025, and her first novel translation, Before I Forget by Anne Pauly, will be published by Peirene Press and Two Lines Press in late 2026.
Her other published translations include Journey at Dusk, a short story for children by Sandrine Kao in the anthology Odyssey, and Progress or Freedom, a nonfiction book about the threat to society posed by Big Tech. She translated texts for A Hopscotch of the Mind, the retrospective exhibition catalogue for Haitian artist Hervé Télémaque at the Serpentine Gallery, and is a regular translator for Critique D’Art, a contemporary art journal published by the University of Rennes.
Her first picture book, And Eddie Had an Egg, was published by Green Bean Books in 2025 after she won the UK Jewish Children’s Book Award 2023.
