I was born in Bradford, Yorkshire many years ago! But I grew up mostly in the Liverpool of the Beatles and Ferries Across the Mersey. Liverpool in the sixties was a fun place to be, warts and all. I look back fondly on that time despite living on a council estate and being churned out of the secondary school education system with no qualifications but with a job in a veterinary clinic working for the RSPCA.

I met and married my husband while I was still a teenager–just–they said it wouldn’t last. It has. We have two children, one of each sort, and two grandsons.

In the search for a life less ordinary, my husband found a job in the middle east which we said we would do for at least two years. After almost twenty years of living and working in various countries, we decided it was time to come home. But, home is now split between a house in the middle of a forest in South West France and a place in the West Midlands. UK.

My love of books and reading is owed in most part to my dad who was a voracious reader and took me to the library every week from a very early age. I have written and loved poetry for as long as I can remember, but it’s only since I retired that I’ve been able to indulge my passion for writing prose.

I write mostly crime novels and police procedurals which have been published by The Book Folks for the past several years and have seen some success. My latest series of police procedurals are set back where it started (almost) in Liverpool, which has been through some tricksy times to become a vibrant, friendly, exciting place.

I’m hoping there’ll be enough in the tank to take the Carr series the last two novels to round out ten and then-well–who knows.
