David Lawson was born in rural Northamptonshire. He moved to London when he was twenty two, to pursue a career in acting and modern psychology, which morphed into the founding of a training company. He now lives on the Sussex coast with his husband and two rescue cats.

Writing under the nom de plume, Erik Tyler Adams, David is currently working as a novelist. He has recently completed ‘The Curious Fascinations of Jenka Moon’, the first in a trilogy of Jenka Moon mystery novels. He is now crafting the second book of the series, ‘The Growing Obsessions of Jenka Moon’.

David subverts the crime and mystery genres to explore themes of sexuality, gender, coercion and blurred boundaries in relationships. His style is accessible, entertaining and filmic, with well-drawn, relatable characters and crisp-paced plots.

David has had a career as a counsellor, a teacher of personal development courses and a broadcaster. He has been a regular contributor to television and radio shows in the U.K. for the BBC, ITV, Channel Five and Sky, plus making television appearances in Australia.

As a non-fiction author, David wrote extensively for the Mind, Body, Spirit area of publishing during the nineties and noughties, working with Harper Collins, Simon and Schuster, Hodder and Stoughton and St. Martin’s Press, amongst others. Past publications were translated into more than ten languages.

David is actively planning new fiction and non-fiction projects. He welcomes approaches from publishers and collaborators. All interesting commissions considered.
