Cynthia Lucy Stephens

Cynthia Lucy Stephens is a member of the Society of Authors, the Chartered Institute of Linguists (MCIL), the Association of Hispanists of Great Britain and Ireland (AHGBI), and the Modern Humanities Research Association (MHRA).

She studied English and Spanish at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, then went to live in Toledo, Spain, where she taught English, and was living there during the historic Transition to Democracy. Afterwards she did research on Jorge Luis Borges at the University of Cambridge.

She has recently written “Circles around Borges”, self-published in Scotland with the help of Bil Fulton of BILdART Publications.

Her poetry book “Seagulls & Sonnets” features many places she has loved since her Scottish childhood, and also roams around the Spain she discovered in her youth. The photograph with the Osorno Volcano was taken while crossing the Andes from Chile to Argentina.  She lives in the seaside town of Dunbar.
