Charles Cordell is the author of English Civil War historical fiction series Divided Kingdom, including the novels God’s Vindictive Wrath and The Keys of Hell and Death.

A former soldier, his writing draws on experience on the ground – in the fraying margins of civilisation – as well as a long study of the General Crisis of the 17th Century and its echoes today.
