I am a writer, theatre designer, and digital creative. Originally from New York, I studied creative writing at the Pratt Institute before moving to Europe and continuing to study literature and theatre at Trinity College Dublin. I write primarily literary and speculative fiction, but I have also worked on plays and games, and engage in a multidisciplinary practice that includes physical design, music and performance. My short fiction has been shortlisted for the Aurora Prize and I have been a writer-in-residence connected to London’s queer archives through the writers’ group Futures in the Making.

Before coming to the UK, I toured North America as a string musician with rock bands, and then worked in the funeral industry, with a focus on restorative art. When not focussing on my own projects, now, I work in theatrical lighting design and lighting control systems.

My work draws on my experiences–particularly as a transgender man and a former funeral professional–to engage with the body and grief. Embodied gender, illness, sexuality, death, and loss are regularly centered in my writing and in my craft theory and workshops. What we pay attention to, what we miss, and the ways we present and experience this information are central to my practice.
