I live in a beautiful part of the East Yorkshire coast with my husband. Every day there is something I see that inspires me to write.

I am a registered nurse of over 32 years, a nursing lecturer, academic author, writer and self-publisher. I have written over 30 academic blogs for a variety of blogging platforms, including The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing, Evidence Based Nursing and BMJ Medical Humanities Online, and over 25 papers for a variety of peer- reviewed journals. I now encourage others to write with me. I have also recently submitted a book chapter for an international book on coaching, which has been accepted for publication.

I have now extended my writing to include a mix of memoir, poetry and prose, writing for social change and nature writing. My work is self-published, currently for family and friends, the aim of which is to create my own personal legacy.

I am also in the process of establishing myself as a ghostwriter. So, watch this space… as they say.

I have a 2-year plan to publish a variety of books, including one I am currently developing, which focuses on the value of coaching. I have two further books which are currently with the printers, one of which is my husband’s memoir and the other – An anthology of Poetry and Prose.

I am also currently talking with family members who are kindly providing me with stories to create both a family narrative and an extension of my memoir.

I run my very own Writing for Social Change group, and in the not too distant future envisage developing a variety of writing workshops and retreats.

I am a Queen’s Nurse, and a Fellow of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, both of which recognise expertise and academic achievement in nursing. I am also a member of the Freire Institute, which promotes and advances the work of Paulo Freire, Brazilian activist and educator.
