A freelance translator and editor, Caroline’s first book The Banker’s Daughter was published in 2007 (Merton, UK), the year before she emigrated to Switzerland. She joined the Geneva Writers’ Group, volunteering on the steering committee for 11 years. She has worked as Chief Editor of Hello Switzerland for 3 years, contributing many articles on Swiss life; and has also edited issues 13 and 15 of the GWG’s anthology Offshoots.
Co-written with her sister Vivian Thonger (NZ), the experimental memoir-in-flash Take Two was published in London by CBeditions in October 2023.
Caroline finds writing inspiration on high-level hikes usually undertaken solo from her vineyard village.
