Carol McKay’s first poetry pamphlet Reading the Landscape was published by Hedgehog Press in 2022. ‘Ceilidh’ from that collection was named by the Scottish Poetry Library as one of the twenty Best Scottish Poems in English in 2022. Her micro-pamphlet, written in collaboration with her partner Keith McKay and entitled None of this Makes any Sense:four poems and four asemic poems, was published by Hedgehog Press in 2024. Carol’s poetry, fiction and best-selling creative non-fiction have been published for over 25 years and have won awards including the Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship. Most recently, she won the Scottish Association of Writers James Muir Poetry Competition in Oct 2023, and was Scriever for the Federation of Writers (Scotland) in 2023.
