I am a Chartered Linguist, French-to-English translator, French-English interpreter and writer specialising in academic, institutional and policy texts. My work spans the humanities and social sciences, human rights, migration and asylum, international development, decolonial and heritage studies, environmental governance and nuclear safety.
I translate and revise publications, research and policy reports and other specialist material for organisations and institutional clients. My recent work includes the English translation of a substantial handbook on decolonial guiding, developed through a European research project, as well as specialist terminology and bilingual glossary work in biodiversity and international environmental law.
As a writer, I am particularly interested in translation, language and ethics, migration and asylum, and the relationship between language, power and representation. My published writing explores the ethics and politics of translation, drawing on both professional practice and academic research. I also serve on the Editorial Board of The Linguist.
I hold an MSc in Interpreting with Merit from Heriot-Watt University.
Recent articles include Who Has the Right to Translate? and No One Is an ‘Illegal Immigrant’.
