I’m an award-winning translator based in Inverclyde, in the west of Scotland.

I’ve been translating from Spanish and Portuguese to English since 2009. Before that, I studied Hispanic Studies at the University of Glasgow and spent some time living and working in Chile and Portugal, which helped me learn the languages and inspired my love of Hispanic and Lusophone cultures.

A lot of my day-to-day work involves translating content for museums, art galleries and heritage sites, including websites, wall panels and labels for exhibitions, subtitles and catalogues.

I also enjoy literary translation and in 2010, I won the inaugural Harvill Secker Young Translators’ Prize. Since then I have translated several novels: Open Door, by Argentinian author Iosi Havilio, in 2011, followed by its sequel, Paradises, in 2013 (And Other Stories); Ten Women, by Marcela Serrano, in 2014 (Amazon Crossing), and We All Loved Cowboys, by Carol Bensimon, published in November 2018 by Transit Books. I have also translated several short stories, excerpts, TV scripts and theatre plays.
