Becka Spruce is the author of Elderwing, a speculative literary horror/thriller that explores loneliness, memory and addiction in a run-down spacecraft. An author in Penguin Random House’s 2025 WriteNow programme, she was selected from over 2,400 applicants for direct editorial mentorship from the company to help develop her short story into a novel. 

Becka is also lead writer for the game Moonlight, author of the Substack newsletter Escape! and holds a Master’s degree in Creative Writing from Keele University. There, she won awards for Best Portfolio and Best Student Overall and was published in the university’s writing anthology eight times. She has featured in Keele’s Alumni magazine and provided consultation to Stoke-on-Trent City Council about improving access to the arts in the area.
