About Ashley Jones MBE

Ash was born and raised in South Wales and began his professional journey at the age of 17 when he joined the Royal Air Force. After serving for ten years in the RAF, he went on to build a distinguished 23-year career as a police officer in both England and Wales.

Alongside his public service career, Ash has been a dedicated volunteer with a range of charitable organisations, contributing at every level — from senior leadership to frontline engagement. His commitment to community work led to one of his projects receiving the prestigious United Nations Public Service Award in 2017.

Since retiring from law enforcement in 2020, Ash has channelled his experience into helping others through his work as a wellbeing trainer with a national military charity. He is also an accomplished professional speaker and enrichment lecturer, delivering talks across the UK and internationally on motivational subjects relating to personal development and historical leaders.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Ash is the host of a successful men’s lifestyle YouTube channel, ‘The Chap’s Guide’, which focuses on men’s style, self-improvement, and gentlemanly living. His contributions in this field were recognised in 2025 when he was admitted to the Society of Authors for his body of work. That same year, he also became a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers, one of London’s historic livery companies.

Ash is married to Rachael, a company director, and together they have one son, Alex, who is passionate about sport and the Scouting movement.
