I grew up in a lively, creative, theatrical family. As an adult I gained a degree in education, specialising in Early Years. My work with three to seven year olds encouraged me to write rhymes and poems for young children, hence – under the pen name of A. F. Griffey – I have written two illustrated books of lively, fun poems for 4 – 7s and one rhyming story for 3 -6s. The poetry books are used in some local schools.
Under my real name, Annette-Frances B, I’ve completed and published a book of theatrical tales based on my father’s life as an acrobatic adagio dancer. He and three family members toured variety theatres from the early 1930s to the mid-1950s. Prior to this book I was involved in compiling and publishing a book of family poetry.
I’m an independent author with my own imprint. Most profit from my books is donated to reputable Alzheimer’s and Cancer charities.
Now living with stage four cancer – still enjoying an excellent quality of life – my focus, in terms of writing, is to complete another poetry book. In addition, I aim to improve my marketing knowledge, especially in terms of genre that are considered niche market.
I am not taking on any commissions at present. I am, however, happy to offer or receive advice from other members.
