I am the Amazon bestselling author (UK, CAN, AUS) of seven novels, a playwright and emerging screenwriter. I write stories about people and all the light and shade in life; finding humour in sadness and seeking out connections. I love to share stories of lived experience and lead workshops and retreats that support and nurture other people to share their stories. From memoir gathering with a Nottinghamshire residents association, to working as a dramaturg with new playwrights. From monologues and children’s stories that go on tour, taking on a life of their own, to the novels, short films or audio installations, I am inspired by people, human connection, and finding ways to share the difficult stuff of life in a way that feels accessible, warm, authentic and engaging. 

I am an Associate Artist at Mansfield Palace Theatre, former New Associate at New Perspectives Theatre Company. As well as a BBC WritersRoom and BFI Short Film Almuni.
