I have a joint honours degree in Modern Languages (French and German) from Oxford University (2000) and was awarded my masters in Translation and Interpreting by Bradford University in 2004.

My translations of prolific French author Marek Halter’s ‘The Birobidzhan Affair’ and Wieviorka’s ‘The Lure of Anti-Semitism’ have been published. You can buy or view a sample of my translation of Fabienne Betting’s quirky novel ‘Not Even with a Chicken’ on Amazon.

I translate catalogues and samples for publishers as well as full-length books. Recently, I translated some German poetry as part of a group of translators. I also offer a proofreading service.

To keep my translation skills up-to-date, I attend translation events/webinars, including a monthly translation workshop organised by the Goethe-Institut. In July, I attended Oxford Translates 2026.

With the publisher’s and author’s permission, I would be happy to provide English subtitles to German or French videos of book launches, poetry readings and slams for a fee.
