Born in Yorkshire I now live in Cardiff Bay, Wales. I have been a writer for over forty years, working in the non-fiction, and fictional styles and genres. I have written for Websites, International/National Magazines, Newspapers, and Editorials/Advertorials, and have been commissioned to write pieces for A-Level Educational Tutorial booklets. My fictional writing led me to launch an award-winning historical novel, a series of 18 children’s picture story books, plus many other books in different genres.
In my non-fiction role, I created, designed, developed, and wrote for a website, winning the Golden Web Award from The International Association of Master Web Designers for ‘Design, Creativity and Content’. It was the first website in the UK to win this prestigious award and did so for 3 years running.
During my business career, I developed my first mentoring programme. This was aimed at helping people in business. But in recent years I have adapted the programme to create www.mentoringwriters.co.uk, an organisation that helps aspiring, developing, and even established writers hone their writing skills. This is done through blogs, writing workshops, podcasts, and informational literature. Working with writers, of all ages, across the world, I also run a similar organisation called Kids4Kids.org.uk aimed at helping younger writers under 18 years.
Over the years, I have dabbled in Poetry, winning quite a few poetry competitions. Regardless of this, my first love is prose writing. As I enjoy sharing with others my constantly acquiring knowledge of the writing world it has led to me being referred to as the Fairy Godmother for Aspiring Writers. Recently I have become involved in the publishing world.
