I have been fascinated by different writing systems of the world since childhood.

Trained as linguist, I moved into translation in mid-nineteen eighties. I translate from English and German into Hindi. Aside literary books, my translations also include memoirs, travel writing and narrative reportage.

In addition to translation, I am an author of short stories and an editor of children’s books and kids picture books specialising in copyediting and developmental editing.
