My first book, a biography of the Duchess of Atholl MP, will be published by The History Press in September 2025. I have always wanted to write, but never quite found the space for it until the duchess’s story captured me during the first covid lockdown in 2020. I couldn’t find the biography of her I wanted to read, and found myself researching and writing it. It seems to have unblocked something and now I have several more projects on the go.

I have spent fifteen years working in public affairs and politics, including standing for Parliament twice, experience which informs my work. I have also taken a leading role in my local SoA group in lobbying our MP against the Government’s proposed policy on AI and copyright. I do freelance public affairs strategy and corporate communications, as well as some editing.

I live in Cambridge with my husband and two children, where I use the University Library for much of my research.
