Amy de la Force is a writer of speculative fiction. The first book in her debut romantasy trilogy, A KISS OF HAMMER AND FLAME, will be published by Canelo (DK, Penguin Random House) as a lead title in 2025.
I’m a B. Communications graduate who majored in journalism and minored in creative writing. In 2020, I completed Curtis Brown Creative’s selective novel-writing programme, and in 2024, I shortlisted for the Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize and longlisted for the Mslexia Novel Competition. I’d previously longlisted for the BPA Pitch Prize, Voyage YA First Chapters Contest and Flash 500 Novel Opening Competition.
Prior to writing full-time: I shaped Creative Services at Apple across Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia; was Head of Content and Creative at an award-winning WPP agency (now AKQA) in Sydney; and led copy and design at a London digital agency as Executive Creative Director.
An Aussie expat, I now live in London. When not writing speculative fiction i.e. adult and cross-over romantasy and historical fiction, I love to draw, and I also used to train in Shaolin kung fu and medieval sword fighting. My stories focus on identity (I’m bi 🏳️🌈), mental health and self-actualisation.
