Biography

After studying film production at the Arts University Bournemouth in the UK and FAMU in Czechia, Alizée graduated from Goldsmiths University London with an MA in Creative & Cultural Entrepreneurship. She began her career in script development, as a freelance translator and script consultant with companies such as Thierry Ardisson’s Ardimages, Entertainment One, Amazon Studios, Ubisoft, and Walt Disney.

An alumna of the MIDPOINT Feature Launch and the TorinoFilmLab Extended script consulting labs, Alizée regularly mentors writers through international development programs and previously worked with Screen Yorkshire and Screen Ireland. For the International Film Festival Rotterdam‘s BOOST NL Program, she provided development support as a script consultant on the animated feature “Mi Papá el Camión” (“My Dad the Truck”), which went on to win a prize at the Annecy Animation Festival’s MIFA Pitches 2024. In 2025, Alizée was selected to take part in Climate Spring’s Changing Climate Narrative program for script consultants, which allows her to bring her specialist storytelling insights and training to projects that aim to explore the climate crisis from new angles.

Alizée is also the author of “The Art of Writing Animation: Storytelling Craft for Writers & Animators” published by UK publisher Creative Essentials in 2026 – a book that explores the creative process that went into the making of critically acclaimed animated films and series through conversations with their creators.

She is represented by Ellen Gallagher at Casarotto Ramsay.

The Art of Writing Animation – Storytelling Craft for Writers & Animators

Is animation written with words or pictures?

How do writers and animators turn ideas into animated films or series? What’s the animation development process? Are animated stories only for kids? What makes animation characters iconic? Can animated short films and web series launch your animation writing career? Writer and script consultant Alizée Musson steps behind the scenes to find answers.

From Hollywood and independent cinema to TV, meet the creators of Pixar and Walt Disney’s Ratatouille, Inside Out and Brave, Peppa Pig, Wolfwalkers, Chicken for Linda!, Netflix’s Supa Team 4, Mars Express, American Dad! and many more. In over 25 case studies and interviews with writers, animators and producers – including an exclusive interview with the producer of Studio Ghibli’s The Tale of The Princess Kaguya – discover all the storytelling tricks of the trade to write your own animated film or series and start your animation writing career.

Exploring short and feature films alongside web and TV series, The Art of Writing Animation dives deep into the creative processes that shape animated stories. It’s the perfect book for live-action screenwriters and animators who would rather learn from fellow creatives than be told how to write.
