I love writing fun, thoughtful books that make big ideas feel exciting and easy to understand. I’ve written more than 50 children’s books, about everything from modern art to outer space. 

My books have been nominated for the UKLA and Blue Peter Book Awards, and featured in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal among others. I’m also an editor and author coach, helping other writers with their brilliant books. I’ve more recently started writing games content and scripts – including one for the Tate Kids video that accompanied the Tate Modern’s blockbuster Cézanne exhibition.

I grew up in London, studied in Brighton and Paris, and spent several years working for children’s publishers and charities. I now live in a pretty town in Derbyshire with my husband, young daughter and very silly cat.
