SoA Cymru event suggestions for 2026
The SoA Cymru committee would like to know which events you would be interested in us running in 2026. We would aim to run three events in 2026.

Please select your preferred three (3) themes from this list:
*

What challenges does the development of AI present to writers in Wales, specifically in relation to translation?
How writers capture place (history, landscape, culture, communities) in fiction, nonfiction, or poetry. Looking at writing set in Wales and other countries too.
Reflecting on the relationship between neurodivergence and different experiences of writing, while also discussing forms of support that neurodivergent writers in Wales could benefit from.
How writers in Wales make and develop contacts with writers in other parts of the world.
Opportunities and challenges in self-publishing, Substack, audiobooks, AI, digital platforms, real-life local encounters with readers.
Resilience, creativity, and survival – how writers navigate financial precarity or social crises.
The role of the writer in shaping policy, politics, and social justice (from climate action to cultural preservation) and/or How our writing reflects the issues of the day, how we embed those in our writing whether poetry or fiction or nonfiction.
If you select more than three options, you won’t be able to submit the form.
