Join the Tufnell Park Writers on Wednesday 3 September from 7pm to hear from Emily Jupp about her work as a playwright. Emily will discuss how she got into playwriting, and will even be giving us a bit of live coaching – so don’t miss out!
Emily has worked in TV, magazines, newspapers and PR. She was a journalist and editor with The Independent newspaper and has also run a national war poetry competition to raise funds for a state of the art rehab centre. In her creative writing life, she’s worked as an edit producer on the Discovery Science Channel’s most successful show and written an award-nominated play – Doing Well – as well as another one,Wormholes! Emily has a degree in Psychology, a coaching course with MOE foundation and a foundation year in psychodynamic psychotherapy, and has offered free career and mental health coaching to artists and performers who couldn’t work during the pandemic.
Emily has always been interested in the power of the arts to change lives for the better and she was the editor and now a judge for visionaryarts.org.uk, a not-for-profit organisation rewarding arts with a social impact which focuses on groups that aren’t always as visible as they should be. She also regularly writes for the arts and culture pages of the beautiful Marylebone Journal and also writes for the national press about arts and culture, particularly theatre.
We will meet at The Lord Palmerston, 33 Dartmouth Park Hill, London NW5 1HU.
