Tufnell Park Writers: Developmental Editors

2 April @ 19:00 - 21:00 BST

Free

Join the Tufnell Park Writers on Wednesday 2 April from 7pm for our next meeting to discuss what to expect working with devopmental editors with author James Opie and editor Hetty Saunders. James and Hetty have been working together on James’ new book, and they will be sharing their process along with some live examples.

Hetty Saunders is a freelance editor, book coach and ghostwriter, specialising in non-fiction. She trained as an English academic and worked at the University of Edinburgh and the University of East Anglia before becoming a qualified editor so she could work with other writers full-time. My House of Sky: The life and work of J.A. Baker, her biography about the author of nature-writing classic The Peregrine, had a foreword by Robert Macfarlane and was one of the Guardian’s Best Nature Books of 2017. Hetty is a member of the SoA and the CIEP and runs a regular writers’ workshop at the London Library.

James Opie helps run the Tufnell Park Writers and worked for many years in the publishing industry. His highlights include W H Smith, Harper Collins, BCA, writing Rupert Bear, working on the Mr Men and playing his part in the success of Harry Potter! James is an officially recognised world leading expert on Toy Soldiers and has had several books on the subject published. His current projects are a family biography and a sci-fi fantasy trilogy.

We will meet at the Lord Palmerston, 33 Dartmouth Park Hill, London NW5 1HU. All members welcome.
