South East London Group meet-up
23 September @ 16:00 - 18:00 BST
Free
Join the South East London Group on Tuesday 23 September from 4pm for their next meet-up on the theme of therapeutic writing.
Discussion will be led by Zaira Lopez, who is a movement practitioner, teacher and writer with a deep interest in the therapeutic benefits of creativity. She is interested in how we can write not just to be published, but for wellbeing, to reconnect with ourselves, to process, reflect, and even unlock blocks. Zaira will talk about:
- Writing as a tool for self-awareness and wellbeing
- How therapeutic writing can help reconnect with the joy of writing or ease writer’s block
- The value of writing for oneself (without pressure to publish)
- How movement or mindfulness might support the writing process
As before the format will be: 10-15 minutes talk, followed by discussion, then social time.
We will meet at The Commercial, 212 Railton Road, Herne Hill, SE24 0JT. The pub is directly opposite Herne Hill Station, and close to bus routes 3, 37, 196 and 322. Group organiser Niall Kishtainy has reserved tables at the back of the pub and will be there to meet you.
All members welcome!
Local Groups meetings are run by our wonderful volunteers, who kindly give their time to support their local writing community. As such, please be mindful of limitations on their time and capacity for running the group.
