Professional Development – Pension 101: what, why and how

Welcome to the wonderful world of pensions! In this presentation, we will be exploring some of the fundamental principles of investing and why pensions in particular are such an important wealth building tool for all. The session will be focus on the basics, such as; what is a pension, why should I be investing in one and how do I open one?
This is the first event in a series of three sessions, hosted by chartered financial planner, Lewis Paterson. These sessions will cover the basics of pensions and ways to better your preparation for retirement.
These three sessions are:
- 15 July – Pension 101: what, why and how
- 30 September – Pensions check up: am I on track to retire?
- 9 December – Pension retirement options
This series of events are for educational purposes and will be made as inclusive as possible to keep financial jargon to an absolute minimum. There will be plenty of time for a Q&A to discuss any points you may have.

Who is this session for?
This session is aimed at anyone that is new to investing and pensions and would like to understand the basics. The session will make the concept of pensions accessible to all, with financial jargon being kept to a minimum.
