New member online meet-up

Join us for an informal online session to welcome new Society of Authors members.

You’ll be greeted by Anna Ganley, Chief Executive of the SoA, who will give a short introduction to how you can get involved with your union and share how to make the most of your membership.

We’ll also be joined by Pallavi Vadhia and Nushreen Rumjaun from the Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society, who will give a short overview of the organisation, how to take advantage of free ALCS membership and the benefits of joining. After their presentation, Pallavi and Nushreen will be available in the breakout rooms to answer any questions.

We will then split into small groups using breakout rooms on Zoom for you to meet your fellow members, chat and make connections. We’ll run two rounds of rooms for around 15 minutes each so you can meet a variety of authors. We will also leave some time for questions at the end.

Programme

• 5 minutes – Welcome from Anna Ganley
• 5 minutes – Introduction to ALCS from Pallavi Vadhia and Nushreen Rumjaun
• 30 minutes – Breakout rooms for informal chats with fellow authors. Each group will be facilitated by a member of staff.
• 10 minutes – Q&A
