How can writers effectively respond to the environmental emergency? Join writers Tom Bullough and Nicola Davies in conversation with Cath Barton, Vice Chair of SoA Cymru Steering Group to discuss how creatives can engage in meaningful action to tackle the issue.

The Line-up

Nicola Davies

Nicola Davies is the author of more than 90 books for children and young people, including poetry, picture books and novels, many reflecting her love of the natural world and the importance of human relationships with nature Her work has been published in more than 12 different languages. She lives in West Wales.

 

Tom Bullough

Tom Bullough is the author of four novels and, most recently, Sarn Helen, which won the 2024 Wales Book of the Year. His first feature film, Mr Burton, will be released in April 2025. At present, Tom is the Story Fellow in Hay Castle. He lives in Bannau Brycheiniog.

 

Cath Barton

Cath Barton lives in South Wales. Her most recent publication is a pamphlet of short stories, Mr Bosch and His Owls (Atomic Bohemian, 2024). Her novella The Plankton Collector, winner of a New Welsh Writing prize in 2017, is due to be republished by Parthian Books in March 2025.
