Grab a cuppa and get to know crime writer, Vaseem Khan. Vaseem will be in conversation with crime writer, Abir Mukherjee to discuss his work and career and to offer a glimpse into his creative routines.

As of Feb 2025, our #SoAatHome How I Write- in conversation events will be free for all but with a donation option when registering for the event. All donations go towards the Society of Authors’ Access Fund. The fund provides authors with support for travel, subsistence, childcare or access needs for events, residencies, and retreats. If you would like to donate with your booking, please do so when registering for the event below.
Programme
- Welcome and housekeeping from Abir Mukherjee (3 mins)
- Introduction to Vaseem Khan, and a glimpse into his creative routine (15-25 mins)
- Vaseem will do a short reading from his book Quantum of Menace (2-3 mins)
- Q&A with audience (10-15 mins)
- Summary and closing comments (3 mins)

Vaseem Khan is the author of Quantum of Menace (out Oct 2025), featuring Q from the James Bond franchise. In 2021, Midnight at Malabar House, set in 1950s India, won the Crime Writers’ Association Historical Dagger. The Girl in Cell A (May 2025) is his first psychological thriller, set in small town America.

Abir Mukherjee
Abir Mukherjee is the bestselling author of historical and modern-day crime thrillers. His books have sold over half a million copies in the UK and won numerous awards including the Theakstons Crime Novel of the Year, and the British Book Awards Crime & Thriller Novel of the Year. Originally from Scotland, Abir now lives with his wife and kids in Surrey, England.
