Feel Good Friday – Build your writing-friendly morning
3 July @ 11:00 - 12:00 BST

Do you have good intentions of committing to a regular morning writing routine, but find that all too often the time gets frittered away with news, emails and other distractions? If so, this workshop is for you.
There won’t be any 5am green tea cliches – it’s about how you want to start your days, and how to get honest and intentional about making that a reality.
#SoAatHome Feel Good Friday events – free for SoA Members
All #SoAatHome Feel Good Friday sessions continue to be free for members. However, for non-members, the price is £35 including VAT.

Programme
- Welcome and introductions from Lilly Brend-Fish – Events and Engagement Manager, SoA (3 mins)
- Workshop led by Emily (45 mins)
- Comfort Break (5 mins)
- Q&A with audience (10 mins)
- Summary and closing comments (2 mins)
What will this session cover?
During this interactive session, we will:
- Reflect on the reasons why mornings matter (however early or late you wake up!)
- Discover your ideal morning routine with the help of open-ended writing prompts
- Compare your current reality with the ideal
- Survey a set of powerful habit-change principles
- Get creative about using those principles to bring the reality closer to the ideal (and protect what’s already good)
- Reflect on any past efforts to make similar changes and what you can learn from them to help this time
- Use what you’ve learned to design a simple behavioural experiment that you’re excited to carry out
- And leave equipped with all you need to test out doing something differently and learn from what happens
Who is this session for?
Anyone intrigued by the potential of their first-thing routines or who feels that their mornings lack direction or intention—or have too little writing in them!
