Join the Brighton and Hove Group on Wednesday 5 November from 1pm to hear from two local authors, Jane Peyton and Anna Hayward, on their experiences with indie publishing.
Jane Peyton writes non-fiction under her own name and fiction under her pen name B.A. Summer. She has published non-fiction books about alcoholic drinks, architecture & design, and British traditions. Her alcohol titles include ‘The Philosophy of Gin’, ‘The Philosophy of Cocktails’, ‘The Philosophy of Beer’, and The Philosophy of Cider’. Jane was the UK’s first accredited Pommelier (cider sommelier) and Britain’s first Beer Sommelier of the Year. She is a former Imbibe Magazine Drinks Educator of the Year.
Anna Hayward‘s historical fiction novel, Broken Madonna, was published in 2024. Anna has received Arts Council funding for research in Italy and mentoring, and won a place on New Writing South’s NWS10 scheme for talented emerging writers. She is also a shortlisted contemporary flash fiction writer and writes short stories on themes of identity and relationships, and is Chair of Trustees for New Writing South.
We’ll meet in the The Regency Town House, 13 Brunswick Square, Hove, BN3 1EH. Tea, coffee and biscuits, including gluten- and dairy-free options, will be provided by group organiser Rebecca for a donation of £2 via SumUp.
The Regency Town House is a charity and lets us meet here very cheaply, so please make a donation as you leave if you’re in a position to do so.
