Brighton and Hove Group: Pitch Me Perfect!

2 October @ 13:00 - 15:00 BST

Free

Join the Brighton and Hove Group on Thursday 2 October from 1pm for a pitching masterclass with pitching and presentation skills coach Sasha Damjanovski. Please note this session will focus primarily on verbal pitching, so there’s no need to prepare anything.

Whether you are writing, starting up a business, trying to win contracts, chances are you will be doing an awful lot of pitching! So, how good is your pitch? Do you walk into a session with a smile and come out with an offer to take things further, or do you go in petrified and leave dissatisfied?

The skills required for pitching and presenting your ideas can be learned easily. Better still, you can learn to tailor your delivery to the needs and sensibilities of the audience, the organisational or market climate you’re pitching in, and your own personality.

Come and learn how to identify the hook of your project and how to make it exciting to others. Learn how to prepare well and how to deliver a perfect pitch in different circumstances. Learn how to deal with nerves, how to show authenticity, create a connection with your audience. Find out what is more powerful than PowerPoint.

Meeting structure:
Part 1 PREPARATION
__ finding the hook
__ structuring the different elements
__ identifying the audience and adapting
__ pitching a project vs pitching oneself
__ practicing variations, testing
__ concerns (negative feedback, stealing ideas, etc)

Part 2 SHOWTIME
__ demonstrating authenticity
__ building a connection with the audience
__ use of voice and body language
__ how to use AV, props, gimmicks or nothing at all
__ adapting to changed circumstances
__ dealing with nerves, confidence hacks etc
